The conviction of Al Sanchez is a day that has been a long time in coming. For years, only a few people and groups like the Illinois Committee for Honest Government were willing to speak out publicly against Sanchez, HDO and the corrupt abuses of the Daley administration. Perhaps now everyone else (including your newspaper) will finally look past the Mayor's doubletalk and nonsense and see the negative impact that two decades of corruption and illegal actions have had on this city. Perhaps now you will join us in demanding that the US Justice Department push ahead in its investigations and demand that the RICO statutes be utilized against Mayor Daley and his corrupt administration, in order to prevent years of further damage to the city and its taxpayers.
